Three Killed in North Texas Tornado

Tornados hit north Texas.
It is very common to hear such natural disasters like tornados, hurricanes, and others from the USA. And I am always surprised at the scale of the disaster reported.

On the other hand, I had a point which I do not understand at all.
The report says that an elderly couple were found dead in a destroyed “mobile home”.
What is the “mobile home”?
If I understand properly, a mobile home is mobile. If so, I may guess that they could escape from the attack by using their mobility if the news about the tornados was given to them beforehand? It seems that the attack was all of a sudden, though…
(Maybe my understanding wrong about “mobile home”…)

By the way, in Tokyo the land price is extremely high. And it is very difficult to get a parking space. (Without a parking space, people can not buy a car under the law.) As driving is one of my best hobbies, my car is like a house, with a better TV, a better reclining seat, and so on than the ones in my apartment.
Can it be my mobile home?

WESTMINSTER, TEXAS
Three Dead in North Texas Tornado
May 11, 2006 07:59 AM

Late-night tornadoes swept through rural North Texas, killing three people, hospitalizing 10 and destroying at least 26 homes, officials said Wednesday.
An elderly couple were found dead in a destroyed mobile home in the tiny community of Westminster, about 45 miles northeast of Dallas, Collin County Fire Marshal Steve Deffibaugh said.
In nearby Grayson County, a 14-year-old died after police said a chimney collapsed on a stairwell where the boy had taken shelter.
"It sounded like a regular thunderstorm, then it went crazy," said Cathy Dotson, who huddled on the floor of her Westminster home with her 13- and 10-year-old grandchildren when the tornado hit about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. "I could actually feel my house move. I looked outside my window, and all I could see was gray."
Collin County officials identified the couple as Mary Ellen Newsom, 80, and Paul Harris Newsom, 82. The teenage victim who was pinned under his home's wreckage was Colson Owens, said Grayson County Sheriff J. Keith Gary.
The path of the tornado that killed the teenager was as wide as 300 yards and eight miles in length, Gary said. Some livestock, including two horses, were also killed in the county.
