Rod is left in the dark.
Rod Stewart is gutted...
He wanted to have floodlights for his own pitch which even Chelsea and Celtic have been to do sessions. But, his neighbors did not accept that.
Rod, the Scotland fan, is so frustrated that he is angry whenever England scores during the World Cup in Germany.
He may be singing his own famous song, “I was only joking”
“What kind of fool was I, I could never win…”

Rod is left in the dark

FOOTBALL-mad Rod Stewart has told how he was “gutted” when plans to put FLOODLIGHTS around the pitch in his back garden were booted into touch.
He was left in the dark when neighbours gave the scheme the red card.
Rod, 61, had the full-sized pitch, complete with changing rooms, built at his 50-room mansion in Epping, Essex.
Speaking at the premiere of the new Evita production in London’s West End, he said: “I’m so proud of the pitch — it’s like a bowling green.
“I’ve had all the big teams train on it. Chelsea and Celtic have been to do sessions on it.
“I really wanted to get floodlights so we could have games at night, so I applied for planning permission.
“The council sent a letter to all my neighbours and every single one objected. I was gutted.”
The staunch Scotland fan — who recorded the team’s World Cup song in 1978 — was then asked if he was backing England in Germany.
He replied: “You can’t ask me that!”
But fiancée Penny Lancaster, 35, interrupted to say: “I just have to stifle my celebrations when England score because he has such a glum face!”
